Overview

This course vividly demonstrates to technology professionals the many ways that computer-based technologies enhance the lives of people with disabilities. The purpose of the course is to sensitize IT workers to the needs of all users, including people with disabilities, seniors, children, computer novices, and people who operate PCs in noisy and distracting environments. Topics covered:

  1. Understand key concepts about disability and people with disabilities.
  2. Know legal and business reasons for considering access for people with disabilities when designing and marketing electronic and information technology products.
  3. Learn about the range of assistive technologies and alternative access techniques that people with disabilities use to operate personal computers.
